I called to make an appointment for cleaning one sofa and two chairs. While making the appointment I described the sofa which is an IKEA Manstad. I specifically stated it was a sofabed that had a chaise and pull-out cushion/platform instead of a mattress. I said that the pullout portion needed to be cleaned as well. All said and done, I was quoted $207 and was told to buy the Yelp special for $150. Done. The day of the appointment, the technician arrived to my home and informed me that he considered my sofa to be a sectional and that I was underquoted. He said I had to pay $100 extra because of the size of the sofa. I told him I was going to cancel the appointment and deal with the issue over the phone with the people who made my appointment. After about 20 minutes of haggling, he said he would clean my sofa, without the pullout bed/platform portion, for $50 more. I agreed to pay because I needed the job done in time for guests and I was tired of dealing with this person. IF what happened was indeed the correct way OxiFresh charges for cleaning sofas, there was a severe lack of communication beforehand when making the appointment. This could have been resolved with more questions being asked about he sofa or even a caveat about possible additional charges being made after the technition evaluates the furniture. I was never asked or knew there would be a difference in cost for a "sofa" or a "sofa with chaise" or "sectional". I do not consider to sofa to be a sectional because it is all one piece of furniture. I felt dooped after having to negotiate the price with the guy after already having paid for the Yelp special and would probably look around more next time I'm in need of upholstry cleaning.
