Step 1
You’ll begin by mixing up a cleaning solution. In the spray bottle, add 1 cup of laundry detergent, ammonia, white vinegar, and water. Give the bottle a real good shake.
Step 2
Do a quick test on the clothing to make sure your homemade solution won’t cause any problems. Spray a small area, work the product into the fabric with a gentle scrubbing brush or by hand (though you should wear gloves), and let it sit for a minute or two.
After the dwell time, rinse the area out and blot it dry. Look for color loss or dye transfer. If you don’t see anything, you should be good to go.
Step 3
Thoroughly spray the spots. Like with your test, you’ll then need to work the product into the fabric using a gentle scrubbing brush or by hand if you have rubber gloves.
Step 4
Let the product sit in the stains for 10 to 15 minutes. Once the dwell time is over, wash the clothes in your machine but don’t dry them yet. After the wash is over, check and see if the stains have disappeared. If not, try repeating this whole process once more.
Once the stains are completely gone or the clothes are as clean as they’ll get, you can go ahead and dry them.
