Tasty Treats: Homemade Granola Bars!
Granola is great, but it’s not exactly a “fast” food. Granola bars are great and fast, but they can get expensive if you buy them all the time. That’s why we’re going to look at this granola bar recipe with nuts and cranberries. It’s from SeattleFarmersMarketGirl on AllRecipes.com (make sure you go and check them out!)
What You’ll Need
Old Fashion Oats – 1 Cup
Quick Cooking Oats – 2 Cups
Sweetened Condensed Milk – 14 Oz. (1 Can)
Silvered Almonds – 1/2 Cup
Pumpkin Seeds, Hulled – 1/2 Cup
Mixed Nuts – 1 Cup
Dried Cranberries – 1 Cup
Let’s Get Cooking
– Step 1 –
Preheat your oven to 350 F.
– Step 2 –
Lightly grease some parchment paper and line a 13×9 pan. You want enough paper to stick out from the edges of the pan so you can lift the granola out later.
– Step 3 –
Mix all your ingredients together.
– Step 4 –
Spread the mixture into the pan. You’ll have to press the mixture down with a wet hand or wet spatula to get it to lay evenly across the pan.
– Step 5 –
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until the edges of the granola is golden brown. Bake the granola for a couple minutes less if you want it to be chewier.
– Step 6 –
After letting it cool for five minutes, lift out the granola and cut it into bars. Enjoy!
