Avocado Fries! Great Snacks for the Big Game
The Big Game – it’s coming soon and with it comes the spread you’ve got to put together. There are always the wings, the chips, and the dips you can supply your hungry fans, but what if you want to do something different this year?
Introducing the Avocado Fries! These great snacks are easy to make and, as a nice bonus, are a lot healthier than traditional treats. Keep reading to learn how to make your #1 snack for the game!
What You’ll Need
(One Avocado = 8-10 Fries)
1 Cup of Flour
1 Cup of Breadcrumbs
Feeling Healthy? Sub. for 3/4 Cup of Breadcrumbs & 2 Tablespoons of Ground Flax
3 Eggs (Whisked)
1/2 Teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
1 Teaspoon Salt
Optional: 4 Tablespoons Grated Parmesan
Let’s Get Cooking!
– Step 1 –
In three bowls, set up the whisked eggs, the flour, and the breadcrumbs (with the salt and cayenne pepper mixed in).
– Step 2 –
Lay out a baking sheet with wax paper.
– Step 3 –
Cut the avocados in half, remove the pit, and scoop out the avocado.
– Step 4 –
Slice each avocado half into 4-5 wedges. You want these to be relatively thick – if they’re too thin, they’ll fall apart in people’s hands.
– Step 5 –
Coat the wedges in the flour, then in the egg, and finally in the breadcrumbs.
– Step 6 –
Lay the wedges on the wax paper, sprinkle on some pepper and (if you want) the grated parmesan.
– Step 7 –
Bake at 400ºF for 6 minutes, flip the wedges, and bake for 6 more minutes.
Suggested Dips: Chipotle Mayo, Sriracha Garlic Dip, and (of course) Ranch
