Oxi Fresh Donates Over $30,000 to Water.org
LAKEWOOD, Colo. – Oxi Fresh Carpet Cleaning, a rapidly growing carpet cleaning franchise and the World’s Greenest Carpet Cleaner®, has donated $30,280 in 2016 to the non-profit Water.org.
Water.org has its roots in various charity efforts dating back to 1990, but was officially founded in 2009 by Matt Damon and Gary White. Their organization’s stated mission is “to bring water and sanitation to the world,” thus improving the lives of the 663 million people who don’t have access to safe water.
Those without safe water or access to a toilet are at a significantly higher risk for disease, malnutrition, and death; they also suffer economically due to the amount of time spent gathering water or looking for a place to go to the bathroom.
“The importance of water cannot be overstated. Life would not exist without it. Yet today, over 663 million people lack access to safe water and 2.4 billion people do not have access to a toilet,” said Mr. Barnett, the founder and CEO of the carpet cleaning franchise, “We want to do our part to change this by continuing to support Water.org well into the future.”
Oxi Fresh Carpet Cleaning donates to Water.org whenever a customer schedules an appointment through their Online Scheduler. As a result, Oxi Fresh strongly encourages all customers to book online so that they can give more to the non-profit.
“As a carpet cleaning franchise company, it’s important to be focused on more than just cleaning carpets and selling franchises,” said Mr. Barnett, “so we couldn’t be more proud of our contribution to such an important and worthwhile cause.”
To date, Water.org has helped several million people throughout Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean. They’ve achieved this success through three core methods: the WaterCredit program, global advocacy, and the New Ventures Fund. Each of these programs either helps people in need directly, increases awareness of the global water crisis, or finds new and improved ways of helping communities around the world.
In addition to supporting Water.org, Oxi Fresh Carpet Cleaning has placed great importance on water conservation. The company specializes in low-moisture cleanings that conserve water compared to traditional cleaning methods.
“For every 100 homes cleaned,” said Mr. Barnett, “our carpet cleaning franchises only needs 200 gallons of water while other systems use up 4,000-6,000 gallons. That’s about 95% more water saved compared to other cleaners – a perfect example of water conservation in action.”
Through their efforts, Oxi Fresh has been able to conserve roughly 30 million gallons of water. In addition to this, the company also uses eco-friendly carpet cleaning products and equipment.
